What do you think of the HTC One ad?

Seen the HTC One ad? Why don't they explain how good the camera is? It doesn't actually tell you anything about the phone(s), other than the ability to shoot video and take pictures at the same time. Surely the burst mode is ideal for parachuting! And who cares about some random guy on his first photoshoot?!

Hahaha, yeah, I think the parachuting community should launch a parliamentary inquest :p

Guess they were keeping it simple? But hey, I never watch ads, so I haven't seen the one you're referring to ;)
Can you link to it? Youtube?

This goes into more detail (and is more annoying!) than the stripped-down 30-second TV advert, but why doesn't he use the burst mode to take the shot?!?!?!?!?!

By taking a vid he can then take stills during filming and afterwards when watching. Maybe they decided that is more relevant because other phone cams have burstmode, but none have that?

I would not hold a phone when parachute opens. :)

The song is so annoying. It seems like almost every video on youtube I watch is preempted by "engh engh engh engh engh engh engh"

HORRIBLE!!!! Sorry for shouting, but it's one of the most annoying tv commercials in history. That "ha ha ha ha..." in the background is maddening!

THAT AD IS SOOOOO ANNOYING!
Not only is the TV ad incredibly contrived and irritating -no one cares about 'Nick' and his pretentious 'first fashion shoot' -but what annoys me is that they have now somehow managed bribe/buy their annoying way into these new 'engagement' ad spots on 4OD, -which simply means you can no longer pop to the loo to miss the irritating ad breaks cos the stupid thing is sitting there, waiting for you to click something when you get back. Irritating, manipulative and nonsense.
Add to that the fact i used to have an HTC which was awful and couldn't perform the most basic tasks and you've got a seriously rubbish product and ad your hands.

Out of interest, which HTC did you used to have?

mikegt3000  Jun. 17, 2012 at 00:57

I had the HTC Desire and now have the HTC One X. To be honest I cant really fault either. I have had sony ericsons and even windows mobile phones previously, but really like the HTC One X, if it was just a little smaller it would be perfect. Perhaps the size of the Desire, then it migh actually fit in my pockets

The One S is pretty much a smaller One X, you realise :p?

Like the Mattster says: get the One S instead. It's very sleek for a 4.3incher. It's faster than the One X, and its battery life is better, too.

Bar the display (which still isn't exactly bad on the One S, IMHO), the One S is better or equal to than the One X in every way I can think of.

Storage? Hasn't it smaller capacity or have I got confused with the V?

When you consider the US One X only has 16gb, same as the One S.
