HTC One Android 4.4.2 KitKat update suspended in the UK

HTC One Android 4.4.2 KitKat update suspended in the UKOh dear. HTC has been forced to suspend the long-awaited Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for HTC One users in the UK after several users reported gremlins on installing it.

The company revealed the news in a statement yesterday, saying it was “working hard” to get to the bottom of the unspecified issue.

HTC One users in the UK have already had to wait far longer for a taste of KitKat than other leading European markets, which saw their update hit the airwaves back in January.

It's not clear exactly why we've had to wait so long, but whatever the reason it seems HTC hasn't quite ironed out all the problems.

“We are aware that a limited number of HTC users are experiencing difficulties with the KitKat update,” the statement reads.

“As a result, all FOTA updates have been temporarily suspended. HTC is committed to providing customers with the best possible mobile experience and we are working hard to resolve the issue quickly.”

It's hardly the publicity HTC needs with the One's successor due to be unveiled on March 25 but hopefully it can get to the bottom of things quickly.

Yep, battery went from lasting more than 24hr to less than 12hr! It would sometimes lose 10% in less than 1/2hr!
