The international version of the HTC Butterfly edges closer to a UK launch, with online retailer Expansys now willing to let you scribble down your pre-order details so that you're first in line when local stocks become available.
There's no price or release date mentioned, but it's the clearest suggestion yet that the UK isn't far from seeing the high-specced 5-incher that's already getting HTC fans excited in Japan, China and the US.
You probably know the deal by now – Lewis covered the story so far just a couple of days ago, after all. The HTC J Butterfly, as it's known in Japan, or the Droid DNA to use its US name, has appeared in GSM form on HTC's global website known simply as the Butterfly, setting our hearts all aflutter (yes, sadly that was on purpose) about a global release.
Expansys is listing the black variant only it seems, while further specs are identical to what we've seen elsewhere – that is, a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, a 5in 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage plus a microSD card slot.
HTC itself has yet to confirm anything one way or another, and Expansys is listing neither a price nor release date for the Butterfly, so there's a fair amount of uncertainty over just what we're dealing with here.
Should HTC remain quiet on the official front, it could mean Expansys is planning to bring in SIM-free handsets once they're available elsewhere and sell them on, which it's entitled to do, though you may be risking your official HTC warranty should you buy one.
That said, you don't have to put down any cash right now, and Expansys says it won't charge you once stocks are available without confirming you still want to go ahead, so if you are keen you might as well stick your name down and see what happens.
