HTC confirms Jelly Bean for HTC One X, One XL and One S

HTC confirms Jelly Bean for HTC One X, One XL and One SYou have to feel a bit sorry for manufacturers at times. While many of them are still struggling with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), Google goes and announces Jelly Bean (Android 4.1).

However, there’s good news for owners of the HTC One X, One XL and One S, as the Taiwanese manufacturer has confirmed that Jelly Bean is officially incoming, baby. At some point.

HTC confirmed to Slashgear: “At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean.”

As for timing, HTC advises: “Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean.”

A spokesperson later confirmed that the update “is for all versions worldwide, including the carrier-specific versions in the U.S.”

Well Duh! Of course they'll enable the latest phones.
At least my Sensation will be able to take advantage of a ported One S rom :)

Surely this is going to come to the Sensation as well at some point right? right?? I thought I bought a top of the range phone when I got the XE 6 months ago. Im not so sure now.

HTC phones update OTA, so you'll get a notification telling you there's an update available. They're usually performed via Wi-Fi, but I guess you could use (a lot of) cellular data to perform the update.

Bare in mind, it's likely to be months before the update is actually released.

i agree, I bought the Evo 3D when it was released in august last year, and that was HTC's most powerful phone before the HTC one X came around. So I thought i was buying the flagship phone. But HTC have screwed sensation and Evo 3D owners over by A.) Not giving us Sense 4.0 with the latest ICS update, even though our phones clearly capable of having it. B.) They're probably not even gonna give us jellybean even though it's more of a minor update than ICS and it has not even been a full year since the phones were released! I'm starting to lose faith in HTC
