Remember the Japan-only HTC J Butterfly from last month? You certainly should, what with its 5in full HD display and 440ppi pixel density, plus a bunch of other high-end specs aimed at the power-hungry Android fan.
At the time we predicted there was little chance of the J Butterfly making it out of the Far East, and we were right: we'll be getting a version known as the HTC Deluxe.
Or so says the leak-happy @evleaks Twitter account, which has posted a rendered product shot of what it says is the Deluxe to stoke our anticipation levels. It certainly looks enough like the J Butterfly to be its international cousin, though it has red detailing as opposed to white.
We're not given anything at all by way of specs, but hopefully it'll match the J Butterfly's impressive credentials. If so, we're looking at a 5in 1920 x 1080 display – surely the hero feature thanks to that insane 440ppi pixel density – as well as a quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage (but no memory card slot).
The only question mark surrounds whether 4G LTE support will be on board. Let's hope so, as this looks like the kind of high-end mobile beast that deserves to be powered by superfast networking fuel.
When will it launch, we hear you ask? Not soon, is the only answer we can give with any certainty. If it's not here by now then there's little point in making any moves this side of Christmas. Could HTC be lining the Deluxe up to be its Mobile World Congress showstopper next February? Time will tell.
