The HTC Desire 626 launched earlier this week, and its decent-specs-affordable-price offering led us to suggest that it might be the Taiwanese manufacturer’s answer to the Motorola Moto G.
There was no mention of western availability at launch, but the suggestion of a US release on Sprint gives us hope that we might eventually see an HTC Desire 626 UK release.
Credit goes to China-based Twitter account @evleaks, where we’ve heard loads of HTC-flavoured news of late, including word of the HTC HimaW with Windows Phone, and an HTC tablet sans Nexus branding.
A simple tweet from a couple of days ago reads: “HTC Desire 626 heading to Sprint, for Prepaid.”
If the HTC Desire 626 is indeed coming to US network Sprint, the next logical step is surely a UK/European release.
To remind you, HTC Desire 626 specs include a 5in 720p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 16GB expandable storage, front stereo speakers, LTE connectivity, and a 2,000mAh battery.
Again, a price tag of circa £125 – as it’s priced in Taiwan – would put the HTC Desire 626 head to head with the Motorola Moto G.
