HTC has announced that a dual-SIM version of its HTC One flagship with a removable back plate and microSD card slot is on its way to the UK.
And while it's getting on for 10 months now since the One was first unveiled, for many people this is the HTC One as it should have been all along. More significantly, it won't cost any more than the existing model.
The dual-SIM configuration will allow you to make and receive calls from either SIM concurrently, so you won't have to pick and choose which of them is active at any given time.
The price you pay is an extra 10g added to the overall weight, and 1mm to its waistline, which pushes it over the 10mm mark but is hardly a huge price to pay under the circumstances.
Otherwise the spec is unchanged from the existing HTC One, which means a 4.7in full HD display, 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, 32GB of internal storage, 4MP UltraPixel camera and BoomSound stereo front-facing speakers.
An exact on-sale date has yet to be revealed, but you can pre-order your HTC One dual-SIM directly from the HTC Store for the same £494.99 SIM-free price as the conventional One is going for.
Will that be enough to inject some fresh life into the HTC One's sales figures even with its M8 successor lurking ever larger on the horizon? Only time will tell.
