HTC didn’t announce anything major at CES, mostly just the HTC Titan 2 with a monstrous 16MP camera. It’s US-only though. Bah.
We’re expecting – or should we say hoping for – big things from the ailing Taiwanese manufacturer at Mobile World Congress, and one high-end device touted for a Barcelona unveiling is the quad-core HTC Edge.
We first heard whispers of the HTC Edge back in November. It’s rumoured to have a 4.7in 720p AMOLED display, Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM and an 8MP camera.
The jury’s still out on which version of Android the HTC Edge will ship with, but we’re expecting Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with a promised upgrade to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) at a later date.
Traditionally, the bigger manufacturers jump the gun and unveil their wares the day before Mobile World Congress gets underway officially. That’s exactly what’s expected to happen this year with the HTC Edge, so that’s February 26.
