I’m sure I scribbled a few hundred words about the Jelly Bean Android 4.2.2 update for the HTC One, but I’ll be damned if I can find the article. Did I make it up? Quite possibly.
Anyway! The HTC One X is due a cheeky upgrade to Jelly Bean Android 4.2 at some as-yet-unspecified point, and there are hints that it might be coming in July.
The HTC One X is the Taiwanese manufacturer’s former flagship, and was succeeded by the HTC One in February this year.
Launching at Mobile World Congress 2012, the HTC One X landed with what was at the time the most recent version of Android, namely Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0).
Since then, it’s been upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1), and the update goodness won’t end there.
In a twitter-based discussion about an imminent OTA update for the HTC One, some guy says: “HOX update should be near as well ;)” HOX, of course, being an abbreviation for HTC One X.
In response, HTC France chap, Yves Wi, says: “I think July... For One S no information for me and you?”
HTC is yet to yell anything official about the HTC One X Jelly Bean Android 4.2 update, but sounds like it won’t be long. Needless to say, SIM free handsets will see the update first, with networks typically dawdling for a few extra weeks/months.
As for the HTC One Jelly Bean Android 4.2.2 update, it should/could be touching down any minute now...
