HTC kept a pretty low profile last year, with nothing much happening after Mobile World Congress 2012 – where we meet the HTC One X, One S and One V (no offense, HTC 8X and 8S).
However, word on the street suggests we should expect two new HTC smartphones to follow shortly after the imminent HTC M7.
Skimming over the specs, it appears that the HTC M7 will remain the Taiwanese manufacturer’s flagship, with the HTC M4 and G2 being comparatively modest.
HTC M4 specs include a 4.3in 720p display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera, 1,700mAh battery, and Jelly Bean (Android 4.1, presumably).
As for the HTC G2 spec sheet, it promises a 3.5in HVGA display, 1GHz (single-core?) processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB internal storage (with microSD support), 5MP rear camera, 1,400mAh battery, and Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0).
Ultimately, the HTC G2 is a slightly souped-up HTC Desire C. Sigh.
Both the HTC M4 and G2 are expected to materialise soonish, but not at Mobile World Congress 2013, which makes us wonder why the heck HTC is bothering with Barca.
The HTC M7, of course, is widely tipped to launch at a London event on February 19, six days before the Barcelona trade show gets underway.
