HTC One M7: Ending a call issue

Scenario: You have finished your telephone call and remove the handset from your ear with a view to ending the call. This movement should initiate the screen to 'wake up' so you can press 'end call' but it doesn't and you either have to press the power button to 'wake up' the screen or hope the other person ends the call first.

This has only started happening since I recently updated to Android Lollipop.

Any ideas how to solve?

Same on 'my' One M8 - and unfortunately that isn't the worst bug...
Haven't come across a fix, yet.
You could try a 3rd party dialler/phone app

Thanks for the reply - thought I was imagining it.

Have you come across any threads on the internet with details of this issue?

Nope... there are a few older threads about the M7, but they are proximity sensor related and way pre-Lollipop...
Having said that, it could be a software bug that affects the proximity sensor?
Curiously, one post I remember was on the Cyanogen forum. So, it even happens with alternative ROMs... Could be a HTC weakness?

I have this problem even with Android Revolution running on my M7....and from what I remember Viper ROM was the same. So seems like an HTC issue in general. Very annoying though.
