The HTC One (M8) Ace is here! Well, sort of. It's popped up on HTC's site in China, a week ahead of its official unveiling. In China, that is. Does nobody do straight product launches any more?
Then again, the Ace has been so well leaked it barely matters, and its official appearance online serves mainly just to confirm things we already know.
Such as its plastic casing and HTC One family design, and a selection of colour options including white, black, blue and red.
On the inside, the One (M8) Ace will be powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor in Asia, though it seems in Europe we'll only be getting 2.3GHz.
The site also confirms the 13MP/5MP camera duo we were expecting rather than the custom Duo snapper on the full M8, as well as the expected BoomSound audio business.
The display size isn't covered by the overview, but from previous reports we're looking at a 5in full HD display, 2GB of RAM, either 16GB or 32GB of expandable storage and a 2600mAh battery.
One thing we will have to wait to find out is the official price tag. Previous leaks have suggested it'll cost from 3,000 Chinese Yuan (about £290), while a separate source has gone on record to claim the Ace will be “much more affordable” than the Samsung Galaxy S5.
Still, we're happy to wait. At least that way the Ace's official unveiling next week won't be a complete waste of time.
