We’re told to brace for not one but two HTC One (M8) variants, including what might well be a One Max-style beast, codenamed Ace.
The other is the obligatory “mini” version, though today’s definition of “mini” is now less than an inch from phablet territory. The 4.5in HTC One (M8) mini (ahem) will go on sale, we’re told, next month.
That’s the story according to an exclusive over on 3g.co.uk, with credit going to a “source inside a UK retailer” – a source that correctly predicted the arrival of the Sony Xperia E1 in March.
Supposedly the HTC One (M8) mini will “incorporate its bigger brothers premium uni-body aluminum design”, which – to be fair – goes without saying, the HTC One mini having performed the same feat last year.
The HTC One (M8) mini will supposedly adopt a 4.5in display (compared to 5in on the flagship One (M8)), which simply reiterates what @evleaks was saying at the beginning of February.
Interestingly, however, we’re told it’s “unclear” if the HTC One (M8) mini will have a 720p or 1080p display. For the record, @evleaks said 720p.
The HTC One (M8)’s Duo Camera will “be replaced with a single camera solution”, while other specs are “likely to be compromised”, confirming that HTC has learnt absolutely nothing from the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact.
