HTC One (M9) specs: 20MP rear camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, Dolby audio?

HTC One (M9) specs: 20MP rear camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, Dolby audio? With its last couple of flagships, HTC has experimented with new camera technologies, firstly with “UltraPixels” on the One (M7), and more recently with a Duo camera on the One (M8).

As such, you’d be forgiven for thinking HTC had something similarly crazy up its sleeve for the imminent One (M9), but nope, this latest report says it’ll be a plain old 20MP rear camera.

That’s the word over on Bloomberg, which gives credit to an anonymous “person familiar with the matter”.

UltraPixels aren’t entirely dead, however, as the HTC One (M9) will supposedly sport an UltraPixel front camera. Call us crazy, but wouldn't your average smartphone buyer be more impressed with a higher megapixel count? The HTC Desire Eye has a 13MP front camera, for example. Just saying.

Further HTC One (M9) specs supposedly include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor (same as the LG G Flex 2 and Xiaomi Mi Note Pro), and Dolby 5.1 audio technology.

In terms of design, the HTC One (M9) won’t stray too far from the (M8), we’re told, which doesn’t come as much surprise considering the abundant acclaim for the latter. Like its predecessor, the One (M9) will come in gold, grey and silver.

Here, the HTC One (M9) launch is tipped to go down “around the time of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona”, though a previous rumour specified it’d follow a few weeks later. In any case, it’s probably safe to go with March for now. Ish.
