No HTC One Max at IFA 2013?

Don't you think HTC would've scheduled a special event for the HTC One Max?
And they've already announced some other phones for the show (Desire 300, Desire 601).
Not getting my hopes up! ;)

It's the smartphone industry. Your hopes shouldn't be up. They should be in bed, tucked in, a half-eaten mint on the bedside table. Dreaming of kittens.

Maybe HTC knew or felt a special event wouldn't do sh*t to stink against Samsung's Note 3 launch? Why bother?

The man has a point, why bother trying to outdo Samsung on their big day, it's only going to end in tears for HTC. That said, the One Max does look like an interesting device, shame it'll price itself out of the market and be overshadowed by the Note 3. Let's face it, the One Max will be riddled with 1st Generation issues, whereas the Note 3 is Samsung's 3rd Generation Phablet device (not including the Galaxy Mega devices because they're crap).

Well as far as i am concerned, Samsung dropped the freaking ball. Placing new guts in an old phone. It don't make it a new phone. It just makes it an upgraded old phone. I will be looking at other companies or just keeping me Note 2. Many months of hype for an upgraded Note 2. It's freaking Pathetic. Peace I'm out

I completely disagree. The HTC One is better phone than the Galaxy S4, and the HTC One wasn't plagued with 1st generation issues. So why would an HTC One Max be any different?

That is very subjective. How is the One better?
(N.B. I prefer the One's build and camera; and Sense beats Touchwiz imho. But the One I had
had bugs. Moments of random lag; weird sudden battery decline...)

Having said that: the Note 1 was Samsung's first phablet and I don't remember any bugs.
So who's to say HTC can't make one? They had enough feedback from the Flyer ;)

I'm with Matt though on the software front. The Note 2 had very impressive features, and judging by today's presentation the Note 3 successfully built on those. I would be surprised if HTC topped that. The build quality and camera aside, the HTC One offers nothing outstanding, does it? Blinkfeed is a handicapped Flipboard widget, Zoe? Um...

Holy cow. I hate Android. I do. But the Note 3 seems to bring more and more new to the table than most of this year's smartphones combined. I'm surprised you don't see that? I'm not saying it's a must-have, by no means. Even when I still coped with Android ,the Note 2 was too much for me; too big, and too many features that, though amazing, didn't serve any purpose in my everyday.

Exactly just google it HTC One is better everyone i know that has the S4 wants to trade it in already i have the HTC One and love it i used to have iphones, S3 came out i got it hated it and sold it in a month got iphone 5, wanted a bigger screen did my research and based on research and past experience on galaxy i chose htc one and ill never look back, not to mention how durable i was in a deadly car crash that could have ended my life this htc one flew out during the crash onto wet grass somewhere after a while a cop finally found my phone and it was perfect like new and that was without a case on it so yes HTC One all the way for me

lol everyone know HTC is far and very far better than Samsung. Besides that I dunnow why he thinks there is no One Max. He didn't know evleaks said it actuelly would be anounced here so just wait. He is a reliable source but some people don't have patience. It doen't mean the One Max won't show up. Just **** wait damn it!

Dude - read my comment. I didn't say the Max wasn't gonna be launched. The OP asked about a "Special event". Read.

Second, the One (or x, y, z) being "better" is a ludicrous statement. IT's PERSONAL PREFERENCE!
None of the Galaxy S4's 'new' features interest me.
In addition, I dislike Android. But in a rather vague, personal-taste kinda way. I wouldn't take/use a free Android phone these days. But on paper it is my favourite OS. And I would never ever suggest to anyone to get a different OS just cause I hate Eric Schmidt. I would never Talk up one brand or model just BECAUSE.

Your favourite food is not the "best" food for everyone.

And to claim NO Htc One has any issues or that everyone who bought one is happy is ludicrous. Of course, you can say all these comments and complaints come from Apple staff =>

http://m.digitaltrends.com/mobile/htc-one-problems/

If an iPhone fan used your reasoning and arguments, you'd be bringing out the holy water to exorcise the demons!

Furthermore, this thread was about the Max; Matt's reply was in reference to that. It is not unreasonable to suggest that Samsung have more experience with phablets and tablets! The HTC Flyer on the other hand was one of mobiles worst flops.
You can of course disagree with matt's argument. I clearly did in part. But not by declaring the One "the best"!

Well said, Jan St! Even if this is completely unrelated, I respect your debating skills.
