HTC phones living 10 minutes in the future?

HTC phones living 10 minutes in the future? As a couple of Mobotniks recently observed, some HTC phones appear to be intermittently running 10 minutes fast. Indeed, I had a similar problem with my HTC Desire HD a few weeks ago, though it seems to be ok now. How bizarre.

Fone Home has touted - and dismissed - a handful of theories, but ultimately it looks like the fault was with HTC.

For example, disabling the “use network-provided values” option seemed to resolve the issue, which might suggest that a particular network was to blame. However, as the problem manifested itself across a number of networks, that’s highly unlikely.

Android 2.3 was briefly hauled in as a suspect too (I had recently received the Gingerbread update), but Froyo-running HTC Desire owners also experienced the issue.

It’s all quiet on the 10-minute-fast front for now, suggesting HTC has rectified the problem. Or has it?

Has anyone had a similar problem with the HTC Sense clock widget? All good here in HTC Desire HD Gingerbread world, but who knows what the next 10 minutes might bring?

My missus had it on her Desire Z a few weeks back, thing is that 2 other HTC owners in the area both had it at the same time and all on vodafone.

My HTC Hero on orange was fine... strange!

Same thing happened with my HTC desire on o2..............Got to work 10 minutes early, to say I was not happy would be an understatement.

Happened to me at the end of May, so it's old news really. Gingerbread was already installed.

At the time it was recommended to turn off the clock/weather sync settings.

Was weird being in a time hole til I got home though! For a while I thought I was going mad.

Never had this problem. Looks like XDA guys fixed this bug before release.

HTC Desire running about 1 hour slow here. UK Three network

Eek I use my Desire HD as my alarm, so if it keeps happening that's worrying! 10 minutes early is a nice, minor inconvenience (especially when it's me!) but not an hour late!

Can't see many employers being sympathetic about that excuse :(

I'm on GiffGaff. From what I've read, it isn't down to the network, though.
