As a couple of Mobotniks recently observed, some HTC phones appear to be intermittently running 10 minutes fast. Indeed, I had a similar problem with my HTC Desire HD a few weeks ago, though it seems to be ok now. How bizarre.
Fone Home has touted - and dismissed - a handful of theories, but ultimately it looks like the fault was with HTC.
For example, disabling the “use network-provided values” option seemed to resolve the issue, which might suggest that a particular network was to blame. However, as the problem manifested itself across a number of networks, that’s highly unlikely.
Android 2.3 was briefly hauled in as a suspect too (I had recently received the Gingerbread update), but Froyo-running HTC Desire owners also experienced the issue.
It’s all quiet on the 10-minute-fast front for now, suggesting HTC has rectified the problem. Or has it?
Has anyone had a similar problem with the HTC Sense clock widget? All good here in HTC Desire HD Gingerbread world, but who knows what the next 10 minutes might bring?
