The world’s first 3D smartphone – the LG Optimus 3D – is on the horizon, and according to an exclusive over on Pocket-lint, HTC has plans for its own 3D phone to take on the Koreans.
I’m severely tempted to go off on another of my patented anti-3D rants, but you’ve heard it all before. If you’re so inclined, check out my To 3D, or not to 3D? feature, penned at last month's Mobile World Congress minutes after playing around with the LG Optimus 3D.
Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, another 3D smartphone – yay!
Pocket-lint has spoken to “multiple sources” suggesting that we’ll see a 3D smartphone from HTC before the end of the year. Some sources reckon it’ll be released at the tail end of 2011, while others suggest HTC is cranking things up a notch with a view to a Q3 release.
Meh. We’re much more excited about the rumoured HTC Revolver, with its insane-o specs. And what about the HTC Pyramid? Are they two different phones? In any case, the CTIA Wireless event in Florida looks like a good bet for finding out more from HTC. It gets underway on Monday. Remain tuned.
