HTC Puccini slated for June production

HTC Puccini slated for June productionWe can’t help but feel that HTC has set off on the wrong foot with its first tablet effort. We were initially quite excited when we met the HTC Flyer at Mobile World Congress, but ultimately became flaccid when we learned how much it’d cost.

Well, HTC isn’t hanging around, as a Digitimes source reckons the Puccini – still unofficial at this point but not exactly a well-kept secret – will go into production in June.

The source also suggests that the HTC Puccini will feature "both resistive and capacitive touch technologies", so we'll presumably see the return of the Magic Pen stylus.

The HTC Puccini is expected to rock a Qualcomm MSM8660 1.5GHz processor and 10.1in screen, with Honeycomb on board. The 7in HTC Flyer, of course, ships with Gingerbread (Android 2.3.3).

We can only assume that the HTC Puccini will come with HTC’s awesome-looking Sense 3.0, which includes HTC Watch, a movie download service. The HTC Sensation will be the first device from the Taiwanese manufacturer to feature Sense 3.0.

Early days yet, but the HTC Puccini is sounding pretty sweet. And there’s always the chance it’ll see the HTC Flyer’s ridiculous price tag drop to something more reasonable.
