New HTC QWERTY slider on the cards

New HTC QWERTY slider on the cardsA leaked user agent profile appears to confirm that the rumoured HTC Doubleshot, a QWERTY slider, is indeed in development.

The HTC Doubleshot is expected to rock Gingerbread (Android 2.3), with a 1.2GHz processor and 6MP camera. It’s also thought to support Bluetooth 3.0 and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi.

There’s speculation that the name Doubleshot might refer to twin cameras used to capture 3D images. I’m saying nothing. If that's the case, the HTC Doubleshot would become the Taiwanese manufacturer's second 3D smartphone, after the HTC Evo 3D.

Android QWERTY phones are few and far between, with the notable exceptions of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro, HTC Desire Z and Motorola Milestone. Have I forgotten something patently obvious? Probably.

The HTC Doubleshot is expected to hit the States in July on T-Mobile.

Well HTC's first QWERTY slider was actually the XDA IIs, back in 2004. OK so it didnt have Android... cos they were on a different planet then! :D

Shuwaz, don't dis the XDA :p
My first HTC was the TYTN... Fairly useless 2.8'' screen, but great qwerty, and sturdy as a brick. Sold it 3-yrs old for £220!!! The good old days LOL

Yeah, when I see the new Nokia E7 I think... TYTN II, Desire Z. Come on Nokia, no marks for originality! (_;)
