The glory days of the original HTC Desire are now but a distant memory, as the Taiwanese manufacturer continues to go from worse to worser.
There’s a prevailing sense that HTC has to do something; things can’t continue as they are, surely. Now we’re hearing that the Taiwanese have a plan, and it involves making your wallet smile.
According to Chinese site My Drivers, HTC’s plan is twofold. Firstly, they’ll slash the price of both existing and future smartphones – be they Android or Windows Phone-based. No arguments here.
Part 2 of the plan will see HTC ditching the Beats audio stuff entirely. Time was, new HTC smartphones came with some lovely (ahem) free Beats headphones.
HTC had a fairly decent start to the year, unveiling the One Series (One X, One S and One Y) at Mobile World Congress, however Samsung continues to dominate the Android scene.
Can some cheeky price cuts make all the difference? Er, time will tell…
