The HTC T6 name appeared during the week, with the accompanying rumours suggesting the first phablet-style device from the Taiwanese manufacturer.
The first HTC T6 spec rumours have inevitably materialised, and she sounds – on paper, at least – like an absolute beast of a phone.
The original HTC T6 rumour didn’t care to mention display size (or indeed any other specs), but we’re hearing that it’ll be 5.9in 1080p. That ought to trouble the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 when it touches down in September (or before).
We’re also told to brace for a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 2GB of RAM, and an HTC One-style UltraPixel camera. Remember, with UltraPixel, 4MP doesn’t really mean 4MP in the traditional sense. Or something.
The purported HTC T6 spec sheet also includes a 2.1MP front shooter, 16GB internal storage (with microSD, thankfully), a 3,300mAh battery, and - not Jelly Bean, but - Key Lime Pie (Android 5.0).
In a move clearly aimed to punch the Samsung Galaxy Note range, the HTC T6 will also supposedly rock a stylus.
Potentially interesting features include a rear fingerprint scanner that unlocks the phone when you pick it up, and a case that throws in an additional 1,250mAh of juice.
As for the HTC T6 release date, well, it’s “due to launch in late summer or early fall” according to the source article on TheUnlockr.
