Back in December, we heard that Huawei was prepping its “smartest, fastest and most high-performing smartphone yet" for Mobile World Congress.
To be honest, we weren’t entirely sure if the Chinese manufacturer had jumped the gun when it revealed the impressive Huawei Ascend P1 S at CES in January, but we’re told that the best is indeed still to come.
The Huawei Ascend P1 S is the manufacturer’s highest-specced smartphone to date, with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. It’s also notable as the world’s thinnest smartphone.
However, Huawei’s Mobile World Congress invite says: “You’ve heard the rumours… now see for yourself as Huawei Device takes a leap into the future of mobile communications to unveil their fastest smartphone yet.
“Join Richard Yu, Chairman of Huawei Device, as he brings you on a journey to discover the incredible technology and power behind Huawei’s latest smartphone.”
So what the hell is it? According to the latest churnings of the rumour mill: the Huawei D1 Q. The “D” stands for diamond, and it’s thought that the “Q” might stand for quad-core. We like.
A 10in variant of the 7in MediaPad is also expected. Incidentally, if you didn't see the ad for the original 7in MediaPad, you absolutely must check it out.
Mobile World Congress gets underway in less than two weeks, kids.
