Huawei Ascend D1 Quad “absolutely” coming to the UK

Huawei Ascend D1 Quad “absolutely” coming to the UKHey, UK guy. Fancy the Huawei Ascend D1 Quad when it finally gets released later this year?

Well, you’re in luck, friend, as the Chinese manufacturer has confirmed to Pocket-lint that the Huawei Ascend D1 Quad will “absolutely” hit the UK in, like, a few months or something.

The Huawei Ascend D1 Quad was revealed at Mobile World Congress back in February, and promises to be one of the phones of the year, with a solid build and super-sexy specs.

Indeed, Huawei claims that the Ascend D1 Quad is the “world’s fastest smartphone”. We’ll take that with a pinch of salt till we get an extended play with it.

But the best part is: it’s expected that the Huawei Ascend D1 Quad will go for around 80% of the price of its big name rivals, such as the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III; maybe £400ish SIM free.

The Huawei Ascend D1 Quad has – as the name suggests – a quad-core processor, 4.5in display (1280 x 720), 8MP camera with 1080p video capture, and Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0).

Exact Huawei Ascend D1 Quad price and release date have yet to be confirmed, but we’ll be keeping a keen eye on proceedings. Stay tooned…

£400 is too expensive now, you can pick up an unlocked One X (from a considerably more premium brand) for £429.99.

The D1Q looks to be a great phone though, if I haven't already bought a One X or S3 I'll be looking very closely at it when it's released.

Wasn't the 400 merely guesswork anyway, judging by the aggressively priced g300 we could see something similarly interesting.

Nah, Huawei said 80% of the price of competitors and the RRP of the D1Q's competitors is £500, 80% of 500 is 400.

Still working out how much their competitors paid to make them call it this.

I wish I was I was getting this rather than the one x. It just looks so much better
