This story reminded me of wandering through Barcelona Airport after MWC 2012, and seeing ads for the Huawei Ascend D1 Quad, proudly declaring it “the world’s fastest smartphone”. Oh, the excitement! And we all know how that story went…
Anyway! A massive CES 2013 poster claims that the soon-to-be-unveiled Huawei Ascend D2 is “The Way to Ultimate Perfection”. Just what we’ve been looking for.
The Chinese manufacturer has already confirmed the Huawei Ascend D2 for CES 2013, alongside the Windows Phone 8-rockin’ Huawei Ascend W1 and the 6.1in Huawei Ascend Mate.
Rumoured Huawei Ascend D2 specs include a 5in 1080p display, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, and 13MP rear camera. All of which is starting to sound heckuva familiar when it comes to new stuff.
Huawei, of course, has been threatening to treat us westerners to high-end smartphones with wallet-friendly price tags, but we won’t hold our breaths after the Huawei Ascend D1 Quad fiasco.
As with all these wee leakies, we’ll have the full story later in the week. Again, CES 2013 gets underway tomorrow, January 8.
