Huawei Ascend G300, Vodafone, £103 delivered @ VeryGet this Huawei Ascend G300 deal @ Very

Ok, not an entirely new deal as such, but Very is offering 10% off your first credit order, and the option to pay over three months with no interest.

If that doesn’t appeal, heck – you can always hit up Vodafone direct (£100). From Very, the Huawei Ascend G300 is £99, with £3.95 delivery.

Huawei Ascend G300 specs include a 4in display (480 x 800 resolution), 1GHz single-core processor, and 512MB of RAM.

There's also a 5MP rear camera, 2.5GB internal storage (with microSD support), and Gingerbread (Android 2.3).

Yes, not bad for the price.

My son loves his G300. Outperforms my wifes SGS. My daughter is jealous and want to upgrade her Orange San Fransisco now :)
This is a very good phone for the money.

What is eye-opening is: the missing joypad aside it is better than the Xperia Play and some other mid-rangers

Wow, that's quite a statement, bearing in mind that to years ago the SGS was the most technically advanced phone money could buy.

"Huawei, inspiring jealousy since 2012" :p.

The Play is not "mid-range" it has no more power than the G300, it just cost a ridiculous amount when it was launched. Oh, and it was sh*t.

On a side note, I'm not sure the genuine mid-range has a place in the market anymore. In a world where you can get an SGS3 free on a £26pm contract (not including Quidco/TCB), phones like the HTC One S are going to struggle to find buyers, IMO.

Yes. TBH, I believe something needs to happen with Android or it'll be the next 'Brew'...
I find there isn't a single Android device out there currently that stands out in terms of materials and build quality - or delivers a killer feature/app that cannot be replicated on a midranger (heavy games aside).... The SGS3 is default purchase in absence of a serious contender. But it doesn't have the quality 'feel' of even a Lumia...

I must get some stats to back that claim up. but I think it's quite well documented elsewhere. The SGS is better built but the G300 doesn't have that pentile display. Horses for courses

And by "needs to happen" I mean: I don't actually care ;) :D

Ok, haven't looked at phones for ages; where do I look for good sim only deals after unlocking? Thanks.

Ok. I guess the following is good

QUESTION. If I get this phone @Tesco (Vodaphone PAYG) do I have to get it unlocked to use a Vodafone SIM-only deal?
