For many, the sweet spot for smartphone size is around the 4.3in mark, however lately there’s been a propensity for gigantic flagships, and of course Samsung Galaxy Note-style “phablets”.
If you think the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is a beast at 5.5in, well, we’re hearing word of something called the Huawei Ascend Mate, with a whopping 6.1in display. Good lord.
The Huawei Ascend Mate reportedly popped up over on Huawei’s Chinese site, with the news relayed by MyDrivers.
According to los Drivers, Huawei executives “confirmed the existence of this phone”, though we’re dealing entirely with words here; no Huawei Ascend Mate pictures just yet.
Huawei Ascend Mate specs are said to include a 6.1in 1080p display, quad-core K3V3 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, 2GB of RAM, Jelly Bean (Android 4.1), and a meaty 4,000mAh battery.
No word on a release date or price for the Huawei Ascend Mate at this stage, but after dashing our hopes with the Huawei Ascend D1 Q, we won’t hold our breath for a UK release any time soon.
Also, the US will hate you if you support Huawei, with the alleged spying and what not. Be careful out there, kids.
