With HTC and Samsung’s new flagships tipped for either side of this year’s Mobile World Congress, B-list manufacturers (kidding) have a chance to swoop in and steal the show.
One of those is China’s Huawei, and details of another new Ascend device are materialising ahead of Barcelona.
It seems that the Huawei Ascend D2, officially unveiled at CES, will very much remain the manufacturer’s flagship. Heck, it is the “world’s most powerful smartphone”. Supposedly.
However, we’ve been told to expect the Huawei Ascend P2 to debut at Mobile World Congress, and its proposed spec sheet makes for fairly – if not hugely – impressive reading.
In addition, we’re now told to make room for something called the Huawei Ascend P2 mini. Say what?
According to MyDrivers, Huawei Ascend P2 mini specs include a 4in 720p display, 1GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, and Jelly Bean (Android 4.1). Kinda high mid-range, I guess.
While we’re jawing about Huawei, I may as well throw in a link for the beastly 6.1in Ascend Mate, which also debuted in Vegas last month. Y’know, just so you’re getting the full Huawei picture.
That's not a bad little portfolio, actually, if these Huawei Ascend P devices arrive as rumoured. Whether or not they make it to the UK is a different matter entirely.
