The Huawei Ascend D1 Quad was ultimately succeeded by the Huawei Ascend D2 (“world’s most powerful smartphone”), and you all know what follows the Huawei Ascend P1, right?
Yep, as we heard last week, something called the Huawei Ascend P2 appears to be in the pipeline, and a spanking new press shot has joined those recently leaked specs.
The Huawei Ascend P2 press shot has been leaked to the unusually hairy men at Unwired View (he says, looking incredibly hairy himself).
Rumoured Huawei Ascend P2 specs include a 4.5in 1080p display, though the aforementioned leak from earlier in the month reckoned it was 5in 720p. With the Huawei Ascend D2 weighing in at 5in 1080p, we’re thinking the former would actually make more sense. Maybe.
In any case, word on the street is the Huawei Ascend P2 will be gunning for the title of "world's thinnest smartphone". Yawn.
We’re also told to expect a homegrown 1.8GHz quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, Jelly Bean (Android 4.something) and a decent-sized 3,000mAh battery.
As for the Huawei Ascend P2 launch, it’s tipped for Mobile World Congress 2013 in the great city of Barcelona, with the conference opening its doors four weeks on Monday.
