Huawei has been threatening to launch its flagship phones in the UK for some time now, with suitably sexy spec sheets complemented by wallet-friendly price tags.
To date we’ve had to make do with budget efforts like the Huawei Ascend G300, but that looks set to change with the arrival of the Huawei Ascend P2 next month. Huzzah!
The Huawei Ascend P2 was launched at Mobile World Congress 2013 in February, and boldly claimed to be the “world’s fastest smarthphone” – thanks to its LTE Cat 4 compatibility.
Huawei Ascend P2 specs include a 4.7in 720p IPS display, quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.2 – topped with Huawei’s Emotion UI), and a 2,420mAh battery.
For now, the Huwaei Ascend P2 has been confirmed as coming to Three, via the official Three blog, and it’ll be compatible with the network’s 4G service when it rolls out later this year. Three previously confirmed it won’t charge extra for 4G.
Huawei Ascend P2 price is a mystery at this point, but we'd expect it to go for around £350 SIM free.
Well, better than nothing, but with all due respect to the Huawei Ascend P2, we’d be more excited to see the Huawei Ascend D2 arrive in Blighty.
