Huawei Ascend W2 spotted online for $289, panda bear is 'Your Honest Pal!!!!!'

Huawei Ascend W2 spotted online for 9, panda bear is 'Your Honest Pal!!!!!'Huawei currently has just one Windows Phone handset on the market, namely the Ascend W1, most notable for its wallet-friendly price tag (indeed, I included it earlier today in The best smartphones under £150).

If you fancy something that packs more of a punch, prepare yourselves for the Huawei Ascend W2. It’s appeared online with a price tag of $289 (£188 converted directly), though we’re not entirely convinced it’s the real deal.

For starters, we’re dealing with a site called, which describes itself as “Your Honest Pal!!!!!” while adopting a panda bear with a bow tie (or is that a cape?) for its logo. Uhm…

Furthermore, the Huawei Ascend W2 release date is noted as November 15, 2012, which was obviously a good five months ago. Since then we’ve had CES and MWC, and still no Huawei Ascend W2.

Also slightly suspicious is the missing internal storage, though – to be fair – even reputable retailers have a knack for hiding/neglecting to mention the GB.

Finally, it’s listed as being both “OUT OF STOCK” and “In stock. Ship within 1-3 working days”. O.........k.

Anyway! According to this mysterious site, Huawei Ascend W2 specs will include a 4.3 in display (1280 x 720), dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera with 1080p video recording, and a non-removable 2,000mAh battery.

Er, we’ll probably wait for the official Huawei Ascend W2 launch before placing our order. Thanks anyway, guys.

Fastcardtech are the worst. They just lie about phone specs and provide no after sales support.

They're good at getting the phone to you though, but you really need to know what you're doing if you plan to buy from them. Not that i would.
