Huawei promises its best smartphone yet for Mobile World Congress

Huawei promises its best smartphone yet for Mobile World CongressWe’ve still a couple of months to go before we jet off to Barcelona for Mobile World Congress 2012, but Chinese manufacturer Huawei is getting the ball rolling early.

The Huaweians have started firing out invites for their event, and promise their “smartest, fastest and most high-performing smartphone yet". Nice.

To be fair, it won’t take much to outdo Huawei’s previous efforts, such as the Honor, Vision, Blaze and Titan. The Huawei Honor is the highest specced of those chaps, with a 4in display, 1.4GHz processor and 8MP/2MP camera combo.

Interestingly, the Huawei event takes place on Sunday February 26, which is the day before Mobile World Congress gets underway officially. Traditionally, only the big players like Samsung and Sony Ericsson crank it up on the Sunday. Ballsy.

Huawei is being touted as “the next HTC”. The manufacturer has had its handsets network branded in the past, but now it’s out to grab a slice of the limelight.

We recently heard that the Huawei Honor had become one of the first handsets in the world – after the Samsung Galaxy Nexus – to grab a slice of Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). Nicely done, lads.

tbf i kinda like huawei. they are the underdogs of the android market so im hoping they take this opportunity to come out flying with a high spec phone to really say "here we are now love me" ;) before announcing a price of say 300-400 quid (which would be the rrp 100 less that sammy etc)

I've lost a lot of love for HTC since they seem to have forgotten how to lead the field in terms of great phones. I feel my ex-love for HTC may transfer across nicely to Huawei.
