The original Asus Eee Pad Transformer, the TF101, is scheduled to get Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) soonish, but there’s a bit of dubiety about just when it’ll be served.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer owners were originally told to expect the update in February, but they formed an angry mob yesterday at the suggestion that they might have to wait till March.
Asus Singapore put its foot in it when it told one user: “ICS upgrade for TF101 will be ready within the Feb/March 2012 period. You will be able to receive the upgrade notification via FOTA once we have a confirmation date.
“We thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.”
March? Surely not! Living without Ice Cream Sandwich for a few more weeks would be worse than living in Syria. Jeeze.
Asus UK was quick to jump in with a statement, telling Facebook fans: “Regarding the reports of ICS for TF101 being pushed back to March - Asus UK has not received any information confirming this. We will let you know if there is any further, solid developments and when we have a difinitive date for the release.
“As Asus Singapore said we appreciate all the support and enthusiasm shown for our products on Facebook. We also realise how frustrating it is to wait and thank you for your patience.”
If waiting for Ice Cream Sandwich is the most “frustrating” and stressful thing going on in your life, count yourself lucky, man.
