It’s the question that has been on every Samsung Galaxy S II owner’s lips for the past – what? – four months: “Where the hell is my Ice Cream Sandwich, Sammo?”
Well get ready, Galaxy S II peeps, as Samsung has declared that it’s starting to roll out Android 4.0 in Europe from today.
The tweet reads: “#ICS for #GALAXYSII will be available today in Europe including Poland, Hungary, Sweden, & Korea, & gradually roll out to other markets.” Ok, so not quite hitting the UK just yet.
And there’s good news for owners of the Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy R, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, 7.7, 8.9 and 10.1 (phew!), as Samsung promises Ice Cream Sandwich for those devices will “follow soon”.
JK Shin, Samsung’s President of IT & Mobile Communications, yelled: "We expect that our customers will enjoy an enhanced experience with their GALAXY device through this upgrade. Samsung is committed to satisfying our customer needs.”
Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus was of course the first device to rock Ice Cream Sandwich, launching way back in November 2011.
