How can I improve my iPhone 4S battery life?

Any suggestions for making my iPhone 4S battery last longer?

Go to clock settings and switch off the localisation. Apparently the 4s is constantly pinging the servers asking whats the local time even though its only supposed to happen when you go abroad... which is draining the battery

This might be related to you. There is not fix yet, but Apple is working on it.

And keep in mind for any future purchases - every time you are first one to get something new and cutting edge you are effectively a guinea pig. Nothing is bug free and first adopters would have to wait a little until everything is fixed.

Just for general battery savings:

Keep screen brightness to a minimum, only enable wifi and Bluetooth when you use them. Switch off 3G unless needed (though, rumour is Apple disabled that option in 'network' settings...).

And as CTPAHHiK said: see what Apple come up with - there seems to be a bug in iOS 5 that affects battery performance. And as he said, all NEW devices/softwares make us the last stage of R&D. We pay to be Guinea pigs. We are the dumbest species - which is why other animals don't join our parties ;)
