Do Not install iTunes 11 ... just yet

It is VERY buggy on our work Macbook Pro. Very.
[edit: Okay, just tried again this morning, and it appears the worst issues may have been caused by Apple's servers? Most stuff - from what I can see in a hurry - seems to be working now. I'll give it more time later]

Numerous sites are already logging a hefty load of bugs - though, granted, many Twitter users reckon it's the greatest thing ever.

Errors/flaws/bugs I encountered:

- all our media are reset to 'new'...not listened to/watched; a bit annoying.
- The STORE is UNUSABLE. As in "unusable" - stuff rendered all over the place,
while 2 thirds in the page centre are blank.

Can anyone release anything well made anymore?

The odd thing is that many folks seem extremely happy with it.
On a positive note: the things that work are quite nice. Simpler, less cluttered and faster.
It's a chunky download, by the way - almost 200 MB on the Mac.

Quite a lot for a shop front and file organiser.

Yes... it used to be half that o_O But more 3D effects for dropdown menus etc... I hate the new iOS 6 store, by the way.

You can install any version of iTUNES FOR THE DRIVERS, and then never use it again - use iTools instead. No need for jailbreak.

Using it now - Have noticed none of the bugbears you're having. The only issue I have is that when I first started using it I was like WTFFF - PLAYLISTS!

Then I right clicked on the top bar and added the column sidebar. Sorted.

Actually really like it, and love the new video's feature and all the rich media intergration, which is ace for people like me who tag everything religiously! :p

This is how the media integration looks...

Too late for me, already installed it - the graphics feel a bit glitchy on my 2011 iMac and when I first opened it I thought that some of the music titles looked interesting until I realised that was my Library and not iTunes Store! Tried to watch the intro video but the American accent was a distraction so I just switched it off - I think it is going to take a while to get used to but iTunes certainly needed a refresh.

What OS are you guys and girls on?

JanSt / MOD  Nov. 30, 2012 at 07:18

Updated first post. Seems a few of the glitches are gone this morning. Could have been stressed Apple servers?

installed on windows 8 first time , needed restart but no problems after that.

Thanks.
Yep, so far it's been working okay for me this morning.
Could have been the sheer demand on the servers, or they finetuned it as they went along?
I installed it minutes after it came online.

Well, the link in the first post explains a few things. Also: though my probs seem to have disappeared, there are still quite a few peeps on twitter and elsewhere complaining about issues.

I would probably give it a week. There are definite problems with playlists disappearing.
And I'm not sure I'd want to hook up a jailbreaked iDevice to it before there's more feedback ;)
