The iOS 7 beta versions continue to roll out to eligible devices, with their little tweaks and what have you. I think the last one we bothered to write about (ahem) was iOS 7 beta 4.
As of yesterday, iOS 7 beta 6 touched down, and while it’s the same old iterative thing with the nothing-worth-wetting-your-pants-over change log, it’s notable for being probably the last beta version before the public get their hands on it.
Skimming through the iOS 7 beta 6 change log (thanks, BGR), there’s not a great deal that’ll interest your average user.
For example, about half way down the iOS 7 beta 6 change log: “Due to changes in how the isa field is implemented, *self may change during enumeration (for example, if the container is retained).
“Workaround: When implementing countByEnumeratingWithState, do not set state->mutationsPtr = self.”
One thing we do understand is the inclusion of development versions of new male and female voices for Siri - in English, French and German. Ah, Siri.
The iPhone 5S launch date is tipped for September 10. Assuming the iPhone 5S release date falls on the Friday the week after (September 20), iOS 7's public release might well be September 18.
