iOS 7 on an iPhone 4S?

Currently deciding if I should bite the bullet and install iOS 7.
Can anyone with an iPhone 4S let us know how it feels? Obviously it'll be hard to get a handle on battery life for a few days, but as long as it's not laggy.......

I don't see why the 4S shouldn't handle it?
You have a point re. battery life. No doubt many people will b*tch. It'll be mostly false alarm. A lot of new stuff in iOS 7 will make people 'experiment' more, and as a result they'll use more juice until they got used to the new-ness. So, don't believe a word!
As to the OS: huge improvement imho. But the icons are disgusting. And no wallpaper can distract from them!!! Funnily (!?), the more important, the uglier - phone, message, safari, mail... bad bad bad.

My other half has an iPad 2 - and it's faster than on iOS 6! No question. Not massively faster. But that bit snappier.

My sister has it on her iPhone 4 and it runs fine from what I've seen so should be okay on the 4S. I've updated my iPhone 5 and 3rd gen iPad and both work great.

TJ any thoughts, yet?

Hi, I've installed it on my iPhone 4 and its fine, looks great too. Only noticeable problem is when typing a message/email - the keyboard lags behind the key presses - but it works fine.

Well it's taking a bit of getting used to, everything's the same but different if you know what I mean due to the new look. I wasn't too sure at first about the new icons and so on when they unveiled it but over the last few months it's grown on me. The new wallpapers and tones are great something that's much needed. I'm struggling to get used to a lot of the stick icons in apps they look so different. One thing I'm not too keen on is the notifications on the lock screen, it seems as though at a glance less fit on the screen to view at any one time and I have to scroll a lot to see all my notifications. One iOS 6 it just seems as though more notifications fitted on the screen to view at any one time. And I have an issue with audiobooks too, I have one split into 3 files but there are about 50 odd chapters to each file, in iOS 6 you could freely view and select each chapter but iOS 7 just displays the 3 individual files as one long continuous chapter each over 8 hours long :S No way that I can find at the minute to view or select the individual chapters, nothing major but just something I noticed last night.

TJ,
I wonder if iTunes 11.1 is necessary to 'fix' your audiobook issue?
Earlier iTunes versions are officially unsupported.
Mind you, updating to iTunes 11.1 caused a minor rage in our home - killed most of my lady's playlists. Oops.

I might try resyncing it then, I updated to iTunes 11.1 yesterday but haven't synced my phone with it yet so might give that a go and see if it solves the issue. If not then I guess that's just the way it works in iOS 7. But aside from that it's nice to have something fresh and new, love the lock screen and some of the animations. I'm sure I'll start to find odd little quirks and things as I use it more.

Haven't checked, but can't iTunes "create" an audiobook from existing files? Maybe you need to do that with your affected audiobooks? Or Apple f*cked it up?!?
Must say, Audiobook handling has always disappointed me - not only on iOS but a bit more so because they sell them, they are expensive - so at least make the experience as good as possible!

I installed the GM build on my 4S last week, no issues at all, runs as well, if not better than iOS 6.

Now running it on my 4s, generally would recommend, some of the app opening animations are a fraction slower than I would like (am inpatient) but all in all it's a solid update and is like all the new featurea

My partner downloaded iOS 7 last week and installed it on both of our iPhones (we both have iPhone 4). Havent noticed a decrease in battery, all works well for me. Think on Sunday my partner also grabbed the file so we could have it on our iPad Mini's and as mine's 4G, that meant two downloads lol. Only thing I didn't like on the iPad is when I open the case if I have a notification, it doesnt unlock automatically, despite turning this off it seems to need to be turned off on a by app basis, ie I turned it off for specific email accounts and they don't appear any more but, the Metro newspaper does as I havent adjusted the settings lol.

My parner's iPhone 4 was jailbroken as well yet upgraded anyway, before seeing it on mine - was a "I'll see if it breaks mine first, then I'll install it on yours" sort of thing :). It didn't break it :D. I like it :). Will work fine on a 4S.

Have to say: from what I've seen so far on my BH's iPad 2 and a friend's iPhone 5, I'm pretty impressed! Icons are hideous, but hey.... And our old iPad seems to last a bit longer on a charge - although we both tried some of the new features etc... Also: Safari is very very fast.

My iphone 4 is running better than ever on the new IOS7. Much better than on IOS6.

This is the one move apple made that can give them GREEN credentials. Thanks for giving new life to an old well-used piece of hardware that has plenty of life still left in it!
