Why doesn't the iOS keyboard have arrows?

I've often wondered why the iOS keyboard doesn't have arrows? Is that a design choice, or a patent thing? Can be quite annoying trying to skip back a few characters with the magnifying glass which isn't always accurate.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind optional arrow keys now and again, but when the iPhone launched that fancy magnifier was quite the big deal, so I guess they didn't want to duplicate the function with something old-fashioned like arrows? I wish Apple would allow 3rd party keyboards, anyway. Though it's not a priority imo.

My Zaggmate bluetooth keyboard has cursors that work in iOS native apps, much easier in Pages than the magnifying glass...oh on second reading you probably meant virtual keyboards lol!

Don't like Android keyboard and iPhone one is even worse. Prefer to use third party solution.

Not having a custom keyboard is like buying a PC and being allowed to use only Microsoft keyboard and mouse.
