More iPad 2 news, and things are moving along rather quickly, despite the Apple tab still being less than one day old officially.
While you still can't pre-order the new slate here in the UK, Apple is letting you register your interest, while Everything Everywhere mobile buddies Orange and T-Mobile are already detailing their plans for the second-gen Apple tablet.
There's no doubting Apple is serious about its 'magical' iOS-fuelled iDevice – you only need to had to the company's UK homepage for the confirmation. A massive iPad 2 splash greets you before you've done anything at all, and the tablet love-in continues once you hit the iPad homepage itself.
But if you want to act on that love, the best you can do is register to be notified once stocks are available – Apple is promising March 25, but given the likely levels of demand we'd still advise sticking your details down. Alternatively, you can stick with the original iPad and save £100 on yesterday's prices – as we mentioned earlier.
If you're specifically interested in the 3G iPad 2, however, Everything Everywhere partners Orange and T-Mobile have already stepped in to throw their names in the hat.
The combined network has issued a statement saying “we can confirm that Everything Everywhere will be offering the iPad 2 when it becomes available later this month on both Orange UK and T-Mobile UK.
“More details regarding price and data plans will be announced in due course.”
Granted, it's a lot of words without too much by way of substance, but given that Apple itself has kept the iPad 2's pricing structure the same as with its predecessor, we've no reason to think the networks won't follow suit. That means you're likely to have to fork out anything from a quid shy of £199 for the slate on a two-year deal.
