iPad: Are we falling out of love with it?

iPad: Are we falling out of love with it?Apparently, we are more in love with the iPad than the Americans. Yep, that is a slightly sweeping statement but fairly true when you look at the results of a study from Baird Equity Research.

It found that 29% of people internationally surveyed plan to buy themselves the new iPad ASAP. 22% are also looking for a bargain and plan to hook themselves a discounted iPad 2. Crucially though, almost half said they're not interested in either. Which shows just how a story could be spun since we could say "almost half of people have no interest in an iPad".

But it's interesting when you compare the numbers to a survey done in the US which found that a whopping 61% of respondents actually have no interest in getting an iPad at all. Only 15% will go for the older, cheaper option and fewer than a quarter plan on getting the iPad 3.

What do you reckon? Are we falling out of love with Apple products? Did you buy an iPad 3 and love it or feel your were cheated a bit? Let us know below.

From an "online survey of 488 potential customers" LOL nice sample there.

But is it surprising that nearly half of that sample aren't planning to buy (which is different from having an interest in, btw) an iPad in the next three months?

I'm more surprised that so many are! If this was anywhere representative of the greater US population we'd be looking at over 150 million iPads sold in the next three months, a crazy number!

You are 100% right.

You get kicked out of university for that kind of "statistics"... To think these folks get paid to churn out figures that mean zilch...

488 is quite a lot for a survey, check the small print in some tvs ads.

Often see they've asked less than 100 people.

There are more tablet options in the US which could contribute to any smaller percentage interest.

That doesn't make it right. Trust me, I studied statistics, and that 'study' is no study, and the statistics 'represents' nothing. Zilch. TV lies always. :p

Of course it doesn't, no survey is ever right.
A survey of 488 people too dumb to click no when asked will you participate in a survey can never be much use
