iPad mini case leaks. Again

iPad mini case leaks. AgainI’m still not entirely convinced that the iPad mini will be unveiled next week, if at all, but with Amazon and Asus/Google firmly planting their flags in budget tablet territory, the climate is certainly right for Apple to make its move.

In any case (pun intended), purported iPad mini housing has been leaked for your viewing pleasure. And not for the first time.

One thing the rumour mill can’t quite decide on is the positioning of the headphone jack. In this particular leak, we have the iPad mini’s headphone jack at the top.

Other iPad mini specs we can garner include a rear camera – something missing from both the Asus Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire HD, incidentally.

There’s also the significantly smaller 9-pin dock connector (tipped for the iPhone 5, too), while it’s widely accepted – as in this leak – that the speaker will sit at the bottom.

Finally, there’s space for the obligatory/traditional Apple-flavoured volume and mute buttons.

Apple might opt for a “one more thing” iPad mini announcement next week, however some suggest that the Californians will wait till October, and announce the 7.85in tablet alongside the new iPods.

I think apple does this purposely so it creates more excitement and eagerness among customers...and just plain wrong.

Otherwise how can stuff like these just be leaked and if that is the case then Apple just have poor security measures in place.

I call BS. No justification, I just do.

It won't be next week, this is Apple. They'll purposely hold out for another few months, letting the android tablets build a bit of hype for them. Then they'll announce in late October/early November, just in time for a Christmas release.

I can't imagine Apple announcing an iPad Mini and iPhone 5 at the same time. It'll be one or the other and I'm guessing they'll leave the Mini until when they unveil any new iPod's in October.

What I'm more interested in is the price of the iPad Mini. Some people say its meant to compete with Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD, which means it'll fall in the $250-$300 dollar range. Personally I just hope that Apple don't try to do their usual stunts, whereby they offer people outdated tech (I'm willing to bet the tech is older than that of Nexus and the new Kindle Fire HD models) but charge them more than they'd be asked to pay for newer tech by other companies.

Well last rumour I read about internals was that yep they were putting ipad2 tech in there, but I still don't think it exists anyway
