As Jan pointed out, next to no one screamed: “What about the iPad mini?!” following Apple’s September keynote. To be fair, there was more than enough to digest, with the iPhone 5, iOS 6 and new iPods.
Having said that, the iPad mini rumours refuse to go away, and now we’re being told to expect invites on October 10 – a week tomorrow.
That’s the good word according to Fortune’s Phil, who credits “a major Apple investor”, who in turn claims to have heard the same iPad mini invite story from “multiple sources”.
If invites are indeed sent out on October 10, that’d suggest an October 17 iPad mini launch. And we all know how much Apple loves Wednesdays. Rumoured iPad mini display size remains the same, namely 7.85in.
Doubts? We’d be surprised to see yet another major product from Apple, just one month after the launch of the iPhone 5.
Belief? Well, it wouldn’t do any harm for Apple to have a cheaper (but not necessarily cheap) iPad, to do battle with the likes of the Amazon Kindle Fire and Google Nexus 7.
What do you think? Is all this iPad mini talk a load of nonsense, or should we prepare for launch?
