Earlier today I penned Five reasons why the iPad mini sucks, but don’t let me put you off. I’m just teasing. Mostly.
One of the criticisms of the iPad mini is the higher-than-expected price, with the 16GB Wi-Fi only model starting at £269 - £110 more than the 16GB Amazon Kindle Fire. However, that hasn’t stopped an iPad mini pre-order frenzy, with the shipping time for many models already hitting 2 weeks.
Glancing at Apple UK at the time of writing, you’ll have to wait up to 2 weeks for all white & silver Wi-Fi only iPad mini models, so that’s the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.
The black & slate is seemingly less popular (or maybe there are just less of them), as only the 16GB Wi-Fi only iPad mini is affected. The 32GB and 64GB equivalents, on the other hand, are available for delivery on November 2 “in most areas” (that’s a new one).
EDIT: yep, all iPad mini Wi-Fi only shipping times have now hit 2 weeks.
Meanwhile, all Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad minis – regardless of colour or capacity – will be dispatched in “Late November”.
Anyone here pre-order an iPad mini? I know a few people had expressed an interest prior to launch.
