Does the iPad mini have any special features?

Does the iPad mini have any special features, like the way the Galaxy Note has special apps? Or is the iPad mini really just a small iPad 2?

Special high price for the spec.
Special low quality build from Jan's description and a bit more flakey in use than the ipad 2 but fundamentally not much difference.
Maybe you'll get such things with the ipad 3s mini.

The iPad Mini is a smaller iPad 2. There is no definitive feature or app. Unless you count screen size as a feature?

To be honest there is no point buying it now at the price currently advertised. I'm willing to bet 10,000 Nexus 7's that there will be a new iPad with retina display etc... coming out soon.

If by soon you mean in about 9-10 months then yeah probably.

The next iPads will be out towards the end of the year to mirror the iPad 4 etc, Apple risked a lot of ire from iPad 3 users by bumping out an updated iPad so soon after the previous one was released just to bring the iPad in line with the lightning dock so I cant see them doing that again this year.

I don't know tbh, think they might bump out new full size one before that with sales drooping and share price floundering somewhat.

Agree with pondlife. I'd be surprised if the wasn't some new iPad out this summer.

As to special features: nope. Nothing any iPad on iOS 6 can't do.
Okay: it fit into my coat pocket. As did the Samsung P1000

Well unless they can resurrect Jobs to launch the iwatch and make it the biggest thing since sliced bread....
Or iTv makes an appearance and is actually significant...

I reckon the iWatch will be some thingy aimed at the exercise Nike folks who like to tweet everytime they ran more than the 5 yards to the loo via some fitness app. "Oy, my bloodpressure is down again - Like me on FB"

Seems limited market, pity they can't make a social app just for them for that matter.
