Yes, since iOS 5 you can update the iPhone 4 OTA. If you are stuck on an older software version, you will have to update via iTunes.

Yes, you presume correctly. Also: I know there's loadsa hype over ota updates, but I would always update via PC/Mac with a solid broadband connection.

+1, I've only updated a device OTA once (HTC Desire from Android 2.1 to Android 2.2) and I was worrying the whole time.

Yes. Theoretically, a broken connection shouldn't be a problem, but it's the kind of 'theory' I like to keep in print. Untried. Also, hey, you oughta be plugged in for plenty of juice, anyways, so why not do it properly and safely? Are we all that busy and homeless?
