iPhone 4S or HTC Sensation XE?

I have an iPhone 3GS at the mo. Would do you guys recommend I should go for next?

Sensation XE is a sexy phone, IMO, the best quality Android phone money can buy. The SGS2 is, by technical specs, better, but it's not as "sturdy", feeling as the Sensation(XE), and as you're used to Apple quality, maybe the Sensation XE will be the best fit for you :). Anyway, I'd recommend going and spending an hour or so in a place like Carphone Warehouse, where they have loads of different phones and networks, just having a play around :).

Samsung galaxy s2. best option mate is simply put try android phones in store. being as your coming from IOS you may find it different as Android is a little less controlled and as such some call it 'a little buggy' but it allows for alot more controllability.

Similar situation here. Looking to upgrade my iPhone 3GS to either the S2 or XE (I think) If the S2 wasn't so cheap feeling I'd go for that but at the moment I'm swayed towards the XE......I think.....

I've got the Sensation and it doesn't feel anywhere near as cheap as the Galaxy S II. It feels like a proper flagship instead of a V8 in a Ford Fiesta.

True, blizzy...
I wish Samsung would release a phone that matches hard- and software (no, not like the Jet where both sucked :p )
Imagine a Nokia X7 or E7 with the Galaxy's performance :D

imagine a nokia with galaxys performance.... im struggling jan i can see one with HTC's explorers performance :p

@Treab
Symbian Belle is fast, Meego is fast and yup... Windows Phone 7 is fast. Can't bash Nokia for being slowpokes. ;)

Yeah, Treab, lame, uninformed, trolly cowpoke, you. :p

So, would you recommend the OP gets a Sensation XE or an iPhone 4S, after his 3GS? Justify your opinion.

;)

Treab  Oct. 17, 2011 at 12:47

out of the 2.

sensation xe Just as powerful just cheaper :p

matt101101 / MOD  Oct. 17, 2011 at 12:49

I agree, though you have to take into account how much the OP has, or hasn't, spent in the Apple ecosystem...

Treab  Oct. 17, 2011 at 12:51

but any apps he has bought are probably on android free :p

A lot of iOS apps are of higher quality than their Android counterparts, for some reason. There's also the convenience of iTunes to think of, Android has mp3box which isn't as reliable (or legal). This isn't just a case of which phone has a better processor etc. There's possible massive investment into Apple's "way", that would be hard to throw away for a bit of extra processor grunt.

Amazon MP3 is a pretty good alternative to iTunes for Android phones. Get on the store and download to the phone immediately. The App even includes a reasonable stab at an MP3 player.

Agree, matt. I can think of quite a few iOS apps that are irreplacable on Android - the genius Garageband being just the most obvious one.
Also, since the iPhone 4S is identical in form to the old 4, accessories are plentiful, and often quite cheap to get.

Also, if you jailbreak, there are quite a few "cheap" iTunes alternatives for iOS, too.
Not to mention TIME. People never consider the time it takes to get familiar with a new OS. Gettting settings and apps right. Setting up accounts, learning about root. F#cking up root etc etc... For many people that "cost" is of more concern than that of re-buying apps.

1) you can't jailbreak the 4s yet.

2) are we sure the iphone 4 accessories work with the iphone 4s...
