iPhone 5 battery, 12 hours on one charge

Is it normal to get 12 hours of battery from an iPhone 5 on one charge.
Admittedly I do text and Facebook a lot and take lots of pictures but 12 hours??

Depends how much constitutes a lot for those uses. If it's more than 5 hours+ screen on time then can't say I'm surprised it's only lasting 12hrs

Yes that seems normal for your usage. Smartphone batteries have never been amazing. In facti would say 12 hours plus is quite good. Not as bad as some phones

Is there a way to check on screen time for a iphone?

Pondlife  Dec. 10, 2012 at 21:53

No idea. Thought they could have some idea how long they'd wasted on facebook..

Trust me, you never know how long you've wasted on Facebook :p Just ask Jan :p
And yeh if the iphone does have an on screen time under battery use it'd by quite interesting tobsee what that was.

I'll have to trust you on that.

Having just looked for such details on ipod touch I think that's dying now as the screen has developed a distinct flicker. :( No useful battery info on ios5 anyway.

Hahaha...
12 hours with a lot of screen-on action is pretty good by today's standards.
Modding this site, having 2 busy twitter accounts on 'stream' , 3 mail accts on push, etc etc I go from 6 AM to lunchtime the next day. Note 2 aside, the iPhone 5 is the best in this regard that I used in 12 to 18 months. My N9 zonks out by the time I get home from work.

Sounds like you are getting rather longer than the op though I guess it's hard to tell

Yeah. Tbh, screen brightness is on 20% max, and no gaming. But quite a bit of toying with photos.

to check screen on time go to: settings > general > usage and it will tell you under time since last full charge

a screen time of 5 hours is the usual time it should last, if its significantly less then what you will need to do is restore the firmware on the phone (wipe the device) and instead of restoring from your backup via itunes you need to set it up as a new iphone and then transfer your music, contacts etc back on (make sure to sync them to itunes/outlook before restoring)
