iPhone 5 battery went down to 97% seconds after coming off charge

Yes my iPhone 5 battery went down to 97% seconds after coming off charge!
Surely that can't be right?! :o
I got a replacement last year, so it's actually only eight months old roughly. On the latest version of iOS 7, not sure if that's having an impact.

By the "latest version of iOS"you mean 7.1.1? If so... pfffft..... IF that is your only problem I think you should count yourself lucky. Disregarding all the stuff posted online, I can point you to some REAL people who experience all kinds of badness since that awful "fix".

I have a loan iPhone 5s. Though I had no problems with 7.1 I was asked to update to the "fix" 7.1.1... Since then I see, for the first time on any iDevice I have used random apps crashes and freezes. Sync with iTunes is utterly random. The camera freezes after every burst of more than 4 photos; and then some.... I wish battery performance were my problem :p But then: it's not my problem for much longer :D

I wouldn't worry about it. Due to the intelligent way in which battery charging works in mobile phones your phone won't stay at 100% when it is fully charged. It will be allowed to discharge slightly before it accepts a charge again.
