It’s been almost 24 hours since our last iPhone 5 story. I was beginning to suffer from withdrawal symptoms, but fortunately Reuters has saved the day with a rather brief news item suggesting we’ll see the new iPhone in September.
The gossip merchants can’t quite seem to decide on the iPhone 5’s specs. Will it have a larger screen? A better camera? NFC support? A QWERTY keyboard? Or will it essentially be an iPhone 4GS?
The only thing semi-concrete on the specs front is that the iPhone 5 will use the same processor as the iPad 2, namely Apple’s dual-core A5 chip.
One thing everyone does seem to agree on, however, is that we won’t see the iPhone 5 till later in the year, probably September or thereabouts.
According to Reuters, “three people familiar with the matter” are the latest to suggest September as the iPhone 5’s release date. The sources expect production to begin in July.
Exciting stuff. Right, time for some more white iPhone 4 rumours. Anyone heard anything?
