How is the iPhone 5s for battery life?

How long does the iPhone 5s last on a single charge? Is it much better/worse than the S5 and G3?

Obviously, it depends on your usage. I haven't used the G3 and only played shortly with an SGS5. But I have used the iPhone 5S quite a bit. Out of the box on iOS 7 it was just about bearable. Worse than the iPhone 5 and much much much worse than the 5c. But I did get through a day at work... With iOS 7.1 it went belly up for me. One day I might get through a day, the next it'd need charging after 5 hours... I didn't wait for iOS 7.1.2 to find out if things got better or worse. And, it seems, iOS 8 is just around the corner.
Anyhoo... from what I gather the G3 and SGS5 cannot possibly be worse. I would expect them to be much better in terms of battery life. The 5c, by the way, though it only has a 10% bigger battery performs much better. The one I used easily got me through a full 24 hour period and then some. And I used it heavily. But that was before Apple decided to release those awful updates.
If I were to buy an iPhone now (which is kind of silly considering it's a month to the launch of the new one/s), I'd buy an iPhone 5c.
I quickly got over the plastic look. It feels nice in the hand.
The camera is better than the one on the iPhone 5, even though on paper it's the same. It's fast and a pile cheaper than the 5s. For me Touch ID is not worth the extra £££. And the extra speed? Well, not relevant if the cost is ridiculous battery life. That's my opinion, anyways.

Depends on your usage and who you talk to as everyone has different experiences. Most people complain about not being able to get through the day with a full charge, whereas I can last two days between charges.
